The final yuletide market of this Christmas season takes place on The Parade, Leamington Spa, 10am – 5pm.

The very last Yuletide Market will see the regular Farmers’ Market producers join for a fabulous pre-Christmas event showcasing a mixture of original gift ideas and local produce.

The regular farmers’ markets will take place at Sutton Coldfield on the 13th and Harborne on the 14th and there is a special Xmas Foodie & Craft Market in Banbury on Friday 13th.

Countdown to Christmas!

December brings the countdown to Christmas – Sketts markets offer lots of food and gift ideas so ignore the crowds in the shops and head outdoors for a bit of festive atmosphere.

Farmers markets and Fine & Local Foods markets run from Dec 6th – 22nd. Check the calendar for locations but don’t forget that Birmingham, New Street doesn’t resume until January and in Solihull, the farmers market on Dec 6th is on but Dec 21st is not.

There are lots of other dedicated Xmas markets this December:

Kidlington Dec 6th, Upton on Severn Dec 7th, Bicester Dec 7th, Banbury Dec 13th, Sutton Coldfield Dec 20th & 21st.

Leamington Spa hosts a Yuletide Market every Sunday in December.

November is flying by and there are just two more markets before the end of the month:

Leamington Spa – Nov 23rd and Warwick – Nov 30th

A reminder that the Birmingham, New Street market won’t be there during December because of the Xmas market but will resume in the New Year.

What’s in season?

Buying seasonal fruit and veg makes sense – it’s local, fresher and better value. Root veg is great for comfort food – mash, soups or roast. Beetroot, parsnips, carrots, turnip, swede and celeriac are all available from the farmers’ market as well as pumpkin and squash. We all know greens are good for us whether it’s good, old fashioned brussel sprouts or trendy kale – both delicious at the moment.

Unusual varieties of home grown apples are a great find at farmers’ markets and not always available from the supermarket.

So, as the nights draw in, get cooking and make the most of the winter season’s fruit and veg.

Warwick University Food & Produce Markets – Halloween Special

Just some dates for your diary – The Wednesday markets at Warwick University are the 30^th October and the 13^th November.

The Warwick Uni market next Wednesday (30^th October) will be a special Halloween market. Traders and their stalls will be dressed up and there will be facepainting for the children.

The Family Day is the weekend of November 30^th & 1^st December.

The Leamington Spa Autumn Markets continue next Sunday, October 27th. The Yuletide markets will begin on November 17th and the Christmas lights will be switched on at 5pm. The very last Yuletide Market will see the regular Farmers’ Market producers join for a fabulous pre-Christmas event showcasing a mixture of original gift ideas and local produce.
